Happy Easter Sunday!

The Bible verse in this photo is my favorite and a perfect “simple thought” for Sunday. I love to remember that Jesus came to serve and save. The action has the opportunity to center us around a common purpose. I believe he wants us to serve others in the same spirit, every chance we get. We are in fact called to do so!

Let us pray today that our country will come together and unify around the idea of service and love for one another – ALL OTHERS.

Hope rises!

blog_779096_2875342_1458488334You may have noticed that I have ended a few of my Sunday blogs this month with the thought that hope is rising. Well indeed, today is PALM SUNDAY and hope is rising!

This week we are going to talk about ideas! We are all always in great hope that we will have those IDEAS that create something special, something fun, meaningful and perhaps even INCREDIBLE. An idea that brings our family closer, elevates our career, fills our financial needs, or brings meaning to those things we care about passionately.

I fully BELIEVE that “GOD IDEAS” (A God idea is one that you can’t stop thinking about, and has grabbed your heart… one that surely must have come from God) – are quite possible for us to attract if we simply give our lives to God in prayer and faith. As the above captures so perfectly. Make him your first priority and he promises a fulfilled life.

Why you should love this month

blog_772311_2862411_1456965041I love March!  It happens to be my birthday month, but it is also a time whereHOPE is RISING, and the newness that is SPRING is right around the corner.  (CHEERS TO MY FELLOW PISCES!). It’s no surprise EASTER and PASSOVER fall into the March/April season each year. I leave you today with a few things you should look forward to this month!

  1. I decided when my boys started school that I would ALWAYS CELEBRATE SPRING BREAK even when they are out of school regardless if I’m 35 or 95.  I encourage you to work on scheduling a spring break this week.  Sometime this month, take a day or several to do something you love!  As simple as an early spring picnic, a day fishing, a long walk in the woods…anything that makes your soul breathe deeply.  If you do this, I’d love to hear about your adventure.
  2. Calling all sports fans!  Even though I’m not a big college basketball fan, this month, I am definitely on the band wagon!  HELLO NCAA MARCH MADNESS. The games, the “brackets” the way the community comes together and hovers around TVS in living rooms, restaurants, airports, and wherever they might be… The sheer excitement.(Also of note, Sporting KC kicks off the season in March)
  3. Regardless of the weather, which looks pretty decent actually for March, March gives us the season’s new and HAPPY COLORS (and for us gals, allows us to contemplate that moment where we soon can toss the boots and tights deep into our closets and bring out the sandals!  Woot Woot!)   HAPPY COLORS signify HOPE and as we step out onto our proverbial “front porches” we begin a season of EXPECTANCY!
